What if confidence was the default?

Hi there, I’m Joyce! I’m so excited to share this space with you.

As a woman of many passions, I’ve always wanted to have a place where I could fully embrace everything that excites me without being limited by a single interest. Starting a blog felt like the perfect way to bring it all together. I’m just so happy that I finally took the leap and hit publish — believe me, I’ve spent quite some time wondering if it would be worthwhile, if anyone would even read this, or if I remembered how to make cute looking website. I wanted everything to be absolutely perfect before making my first post, but I had to let that idea go because months were passing and I was still spinning countless ideas in my head. Now, my ideas finally have a home on this blog.

This is in part a style blog, so I thought long and hard about what outfit would mark my debut. I decided on a classic look, a crisp white tee and jeans, because sometimes simplicity speaks volumes. It’s the sartorial equivalent of a clean slate, the perfect representation of where I am right now.

My overall theme in this new year is BIGGER. It’s important to me because I’m ready to live an abundant life— I’m ready for more in every way. Behind every perfectionist lies the fear of failure and the fear of not being good enough. This year and onward, I’m trusting my skills and my heart knowing that I am enough just as I am. I am confident in that, and I accept it as fact.

Imagine how different life would be if we allowed ourselves to feel confident more often, even on the days when it doesn’t come so naturally. Rather than a destination with an end point, think of it as more of a habit: something you incorporate in small ways into your day until it becomes second nature.

So I’ll ask you this: What if confidence was the default?

Would you still hold back, or say whatever was on your heart?

Would you move differently, knowing that you belong in every room that you enter?
Would you ask for more? Would you say no more often? Would you be willing to walk away?
Would you try new things, eat new foods, and meet new people? Would you spend more with faith that it will come back tenfold?

Would you plant more seeds? Would you keep second-guessing? Would you push yourself even harder? Would you rest?

Would you go out and explore the world without fear? Would you trust that you will always find your way home?
Would you be more brave? Would you finally get out of your own way?

This year, I’m stepping into my power and bringing you along for the ride. If you made it this far, you’re a real one. Thank you for joining me on my journey. We’re going to have a lot of fun here!

With Love,

JP
